I grew up in the tiny, beautiful village of Gernlinden, West of Munich.
After attending the local primary school, like you do, I went off to the grammar school in Olching in 1983, leaving again when I was in class 7 to go to the secondary school in
Maisach. I had the dubious honour of repeating class 8, and dropped out of my engineer-ing/maths studies there in 1994.
I then did 2 years at the Munich Ostbahnhof Technical College, where I obtained my
technical diploma (it was the most awful, boring 2 years of my life).
In 1996, I took some time out from my education to do my social service in ASZ-Blumenau. I really enjoyed that time, and learned a lot of stuff you never hear about in school.
In 1997, I began my studies in Geoinformatics and Surveying at the Munich College of Higher Education (what a brilliant time!). My studies came to a successful end in 2002, and I jumped straight into work. From then until June 2004, I was employed as a graduate
engineer at IB Eber (go to www.ib-eber.de or www.geosys.de).
My time working in the Geosys office was great, but sadly we had to part company for
various reasons. But they were the nicest colleagues you could wish for, and I sometimes get the urge to go off hunting with my tachometer again
I started playing the drums at the age of about 12. I managed to nag my parents so much, that they gave in and let me have my first kit. I somehow managed to teach myself, coming as I do from a totally non-musical family. I can’t read a single note, so I’ve found my own personal way of communicating with my music colleagues (I hum them something, and sometimes even count them in…).
At one time, I did actually want to catch up with some proper lessons, but now I just don’t have the urge any more. Being in Schandmaul simply doesn’t leave any time these days for any “normal” work, holidays or lessons, and that’s how I like it.
But if I do have a few free minutes, I love going out on my motorbike (a BMW R 1100 R) or torturing myself with a bit of sport.
My favourite thing is meeting up with my friends, who have stuck around in spite of my
constant absences, and we always have a great time.
As for my musical tastes, I’m a total “omnivore”.
You’ll find anything from ACDC, Audioslave, Beatsteaks, Bob Marley, Filter, Linkin Park, Limpbizkit, Kruder&Dorfmeister, Korn, Metallica, System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers to Pink Floyd in my CD rack.

Best wishes, STEFAN.
